Hey, Here's a feature I would like. My shoe upside some heads. You're allowed to say "Hey, wouldnt it be cool if X had this feature?" or "Yah know what, I really like Y, but if it had this feature, I would like it more, but I don't need this feature " People do it all the time and have any right to say so... but badgering someone about what they say is getting real old. I wish MS would make a combo Zune/PSP type system that I outlined in another post to make a great device. We all have things we would like to see added and ditched, and the only person that is right would be the one who actually gets it done and the thing sells more. As I see neither of you on Microsofts R&D team for the Zune, it's nothing more than fanciful wanting. This thread is about getting a better shuffle function and somewhat about the over all fact it's a "lacking" update. Not over who's right or wrong.

"I'd say internet radio is better than wifi purchases. But either would be a really great expansion of the hardware."
With this remark your are implying that Microsoft should direct their efforts on x feature that you like (or want) instead of y feature that most Zune owners on the USA want (I don't care much about Wifi purchases). The second sentence make this remark more clear since these two features could make the Zune great in your mind.
I asked one simple question since the iPod is NOT a perfect DAP maybe for you but not for everyone else. I will rephrase the question: Did you post in any iPod related forum or website that the iPod needs internet radio and Wifi purchases to make it great before making this post on a Zune related forum ?
In my opinion, I will never go to any competing player forum like a Zen forum and post: The ZVM needs WiFi to be a really great expansion to it and make it GREAT.
Wrong. I'm simply saying that inclusion of either function would make the addition of a wireless chip more effective, regardless of which one I would prefer to have at all. What Microsoft should do is not for me to decide. But like any consumer, I have the right to express my opinion as to what a good course of action would be. Your question regarding my concerns about the iPod including internet radio or an FM tuner do not apply, and here's why. My statement regards functions that currently included hardware is actually capable of, not hardware that has yet to be added. All the iPod has inside is a battery, a hard drive, a main board+display+clickwheel assembly and a small audio circuit. If there was some extra function that I would like for any of these components to perform other than what they already do I would mention them, but they do everything they are capable of doing. Not a single component is limited by an artificial barrier, only by their raw specifications. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if one chooses to join a forum that is slanted to the contrary of his or her own opinions. This should not mean that one isn't welcome, or that his or her input is somehow invalid. I for one am not concerned about being surrounded by nothing but like minds, so long as there are enough reasonable people that are willing to accept the differences and personal preferences.

Perhaps when it has the capacity to contain liquids and a proper nozzle to dispense it, I'll make the suggestion.

PortalPlayer rings a bell in your skull? Looks for iPod + PP5020 or PP5022 The SoC chips included on current or previous generation iPod included FM tuning but you know what...Apple choose not to use it. The current hardware is capable of this. Are your bone near to your spine fine ? Go to www.misticriver.net or www.epizenter.net and post something like that and the forum posters will tell what the iPod need to be on the same feature level as player from iRiver or Creative.

Dude, the current iPod has no receiver, thus is incapable of getting the signal unaided.

Oh great, just great. There is definitely no announcment today as Cesar just said "what's with this june 1st thing people keep talking about?" I suppose it was wishful thinking on my part that the rumor would come true but no, I'm still thoroughly disappointed now though.

Since I know what I want to listen to and never use shuffle, I'm less than thrilled. It took this long to write a logarithm? Gapless please.

Just got the update at 2:00 a.m. 6/2/2007 Wonder how they distribute the updates? Had to load it twice like someone else posted. The shuffle function is indeed alot better. I got scared at first when I had to rename my device, I thought it wiped the whole drive.
But all I had to do was rename it and reset my background.

Why do I get the feeling that all people who are happy about these so called firmware updates consist of 3/4's of the zune team while the rest of us , who look at this most recent disapointment are customers who want to get what they paid for and are pissed for a legitimate reason ,and that reason is we havent got what we WERE promised. Look at PS3 I hate the product but how many updates has it gotten? ALL INCLUDING NEW FEATURES AS WELL AS NOTICIABLE CHANGES, not some shuffle update , this is seriously a joke, what does that fat lil bastard cesar actually do all day besides posting comments praising THIS ALL MIGHTY BRICK under psuedo names on blogs, if I didnt hate apple so much id buy an ipod , instead ill wait for a GOOD player to come out , and when it does , look forward to a video link from me when i post , and in that video you will see me + either an explosive, and hammer, or some VERY creative way of destroying this P.o.S hardware, in the mean time im thinking of a way to get cesar to come to my town and convincing him to bend over to I can insert it into his a$$, and say "here you chubby little bastard shuffle this....."
Actually when you bought the Zune, they never promised firmware updates, so what you paid for was the Zune, not for firmware. They provide us firmware updates for free, so people should be thankful even though this is a small update, we are getting it for FREE!!! so stop b itching people.

well i see this as a big upgrade because when i used to shuffle some songs would get played 3 to 4 times before some got even played once.

This is a classic case of someone buying the Zune for what it can be, not for what it is. Thats like marrying a crackhead that promisses to get clean..
