my zune will not turn off...no matter how long i hold the button it wont TURN OFF and YES THE HOLD BUTTON IS NOT TURNED ON

wow im a noob  Undecided  i figured out when its plugged into the computer it doesnt turn off Cheesy

lol yeah it shuts off by its self when plugged in or well at least the screen turns off

OK NOW IM REALLY MAD IM EITHER DOING SOMEthing wrong...OR i think my zune is frozen im hold the play/pause and IT WONT DO ANYTHING and its not hooked up to comp

hrmm

is it supposed to turn on when you hit the little pad thing? or only when you hold play pause?

cuz i dont know if mine turns off either...

this is the biggest flaw ive seen so far.. if it freezes THERE IS NOT RESET BUTTON I HAD TO LET THE BATTERY DIE OUT! LAME

There is a way to reset the Zune... and it's in the manual...

Reset : Press and hold the back button while pressing up on the control pad.

when you power it on shouldnt it say ZUNE and show a little loading bar at the bottom? mine doesnt. MINE ALSO DOESNT HAVE WIRELESS!

Ive noticed that when its off, Any button will turn it back on and load it straight to the main screen, Either that or ive never had in off yet (but i doubt it)

same here i charged mine all night then it only lasted at work for about 6 hours and all i did was listen to the radio for like 4! i dont think mine was getting turned off.

.. Suspending the Zune (press and hold the play/pause button) works like your screensaver. Touch anything and on it goes.
.. Putting the Zune into Deep Sleep (press and hold the back button while pressing down on the control pad) might be the best bet in battery conservation, especially if the Zune isn't gonna be used for several hours.
.. Turning off the wireless function, adjusting the backlite, blahblahblah, also helps. Heck, the Zune website said to turn down the volume to conserve battery power. shah, like I'm gonna put Rob Halford or Pantera down to a "softer, kindler, gentler" sound level!!

thanks a lot better. I thought i tried it but i guess you have to hold it down longer than i was. cause i wont be using it for awhile, at least till i get ver 2005 of XP!
