Might I ask, why would you do such a thing?

Might I ask, why would you do such a thing? If you have to ask then you haven't spent much time with both levels of software/firmware. The 2.2 firmware overly compressed album art, changed the way it displayed picture thumbnails, Playskool sized menu font, etc. The 2.2 desktop software removed a lot of functionality... including increasing sync time of video by 33%.

Where's the instructions for the downgrade? This album art pixelation is frustrating. I really loved 1.4

If you are so happy with the latest firmware and software why not avoid this thread? I know that there are quite a few others who want to know this information.

I dont get why youre having these problems? All my cover art looks exactly the same as it did before, actually it looks a little better because now the bottom edge is no longer obstructed by the position bar. I converted/synced some movies and they took the same amount of time as they did with the old software. What are the specs on the computer youre using?

Then be happy. I'm not trying to convince you that you should downgrade... and I certainly don't need convincing to upgrade (again).

I don't use Zune Pass. I can handle podcasts with the old software/firmware just fine, thank you.

The desktop software seems to be working just fine for me, though my library on that thing is scant, as I have Windows stuffed into a 5GB partition, so I haven't encountered library issues. The interface looks OK, though the Playskool font on the main menu is senselessly huge. The only issues I've run into so far is that it will stall for a few seconds, almost consistently, when I enter the music folder, and the videos I had loaded on it now refuse to play properly. They stall for quite a while. I've given up trying to use them.

I don't get it The zune firmware is AWESOME. Its just the pc software that is so-so. Why would you downgrade the zune?

Well I'm certainly considering downgrading and I've only been using it for maybe 15 minutes. The stalling gets quite annoying, and with the complete lack of proper video playback there's little reason to keep it this way. Usability has dropped dramatically.
