Quick question. My mother likes opening my shades up at about 5:00 Am, which she did today. when i woke up the sun was shining directly on to my Zunes screen. I havnt noticed any effect from this. I think it was only exposed for about an hour. Do you think this will have any future effect on my zunes screen? Thanks.

it's glass.. it's fine..

However, nothing does well under prolonged direct sunlight, especially during summer time when the sunlight is brighter, longer, hotter.

Dawn light won't do a thing to your Zune though

Maybe the plastic will lose color under the UV radiation after a while. Then you'll end up with a white zune I guess =/.

But a little sunlight won't do anything.

Prolonged sunlight is certainly not good. Think of what happens to the inside of your car in the summer. The same thing can happen between the glass panel and the LCD crystals. Worst case is the heat causes permanent damage. Not that an hour in the sun is even remotely close to causing damage, but I wouldn't make a habit of leaving it in direct focused sunlight.

it's not the light that's the problem though, it's the heat. even a few hours of dawn light will not do anything to the zune.

plus the zune 80 has a metal housing right? or is it just the back. the front of mine doesn't feel that plasticy...
