Okay so I've tried to have this problem answered over on zune.net's forums by the Zune Team but they've all but dissapeared. My fantasy is that they're feverishly fixing exactly this issue but I'm not holding my breath. So the problem that I'm running into is this. I used my Zune software to rip roughly 250+ albums onto my Zune. So last night I was in the process of ripping a CD when I hit the back <- arrow to get to my collection. While in there I was trying to update some artist information for an album. I switched from Browse to List and Zune crashed. Since then it has NOT launched successfully once. When I get the error I get this message (I know that it contains absolutely NO useful info) but here it is:

So when I check out the Event Viewer I see this the Source is ".NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting" and the Description is "Faulting application zune.exe, version 2.1.888.0, stamp 47312b3b, faulting module zunenativelib.dll, version 2.1.888.0, stamp 47312b48, debug? 0, fault address 0x0007ec0b."

I can include the data too but I didn't want to put a bunch crap in here.

If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

Most Zune crashes are a result of a corrupt database or library.
Deleting the library usually fixes things but then you're basically starting your collection form scratch.
If you want to give it a try you can find and delete the file zunestore.sdf.
The file will simply be recreated the next time that the Zune software successfully opens.

It's a hidden file in a hidden folder so go to Windows Explorer and make sure that you have view hidden files/folders turned on.

In Windows XP look here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Zune\
or it might be:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Zune

In Windows Vista look here:
C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Zune\

uninistall the zune software... Download and install  then run unzoon: http://remove-it.org/tools/unzoone

Make sure windows is up to date... you can even go as far as defraging you hd (some people have reported positive reslts from doing so)

Re-install zune software... Have a nice day

Here is what I did today... Uninstall it then use Unzoone to take the rest of the hidden stuff out. I went to my security center and clicked download critical updates. After they finished downloading I restarted my computer and once it came back on it installed everything. After that was done I restarted again. Then I went and downloaded the zune software online not using the disk (im not sure if this matters or not) and boom it worked.
