Patcher 2.0 is complete.

Requirements:
  • Windows XP
  • .NET Framework 2.0
  • A Zune

Instructions:
  • Unplug your Zune.
  • Turn off the Zune Software.
  • Run the patch.
  • Plug in your Zune.

Did it work?
  • If it said "Patched successfully", it worked.
  • Goto "My Computer" and double click on your Zune then on storage, and viola.
  • Don't worry about there being two icons, it's normal. Both work, click the one you like best.

What now?
  • Note: To view any files this way, you must have the Zune software running. To create or modify files, you must have the
    software running and "Syncing".
  • Also Note: Once you have began copying a file (not sure about multiple files) to your Zune, you can stop the syncing and close the Zune software. The transfer will still continue and finish
  • Make a folder and start dropping stuff in it.
  • Email yourself the link to the patcher so if you plug it in on any other computer you'll have access to it. (The link is better then the actual file, as as more info becomes available, newer versions will be available and always as the same name, so you can always just go back and re-download from the very same link)

What if it doesn't work?
  • Open regedit
  • Go to the location specified in the tutorial
  • Take a screen shot (hit the print screen button near the top right corner of your keyboard)
  • Open mspaint (start->run->type in mspaint and hit enter)
  • Paste the screen shot (hit ctrl+v)
  • Save it as a .jpg or something small (not a .bmp)
  • Email me the picture (berdon(DOT)zune(AT)gmail(DOT)com)

About:
  • Utilizes the Registry mod (from www.ZuneBoards.com), created for people that don't want to fiddle around in their registry.

Means it didn't work, you need a Zune for windows to create the registry entries.

Same thing, ive been trying everything for a couple hours. Do you need to format your zune, and for this hack to work do you have to have usb 2.0 ports? I cant think of anything else.

Hmm, it should work flawlessly.

For anyone that it's not working for, could you:
1. Open regedit
2. Go to the location specified in the tutorial
3. Take a screen shot (hit the print screen button near the top right corner of your keyboard)
4. Open mspaint (start->run->type in mspaint and hit enter)
5. Paste the screen shot (hit ctrl+v)
6. Save it as a .jpg or something small (not a .bmp)
7. Post it here (you'll need to upload it to somewhere too)

Alternatively, you could email me the picture (berdon(AT)gmail(DOT)com).

To see if it worked, plug in your Zune and go to my computer. You should see your Zune listed there. You can then double click it, then double click on storage, and then traverse where ever you want.

Yeah.

As of now, I'm pretty sure the stock firmware will just ignore all unsupported formats; however, it's probably best if you just make your own folder for your stuff.

This is an interesting "feature" that hasn't been resolved completely yet. For now, just always click on the one with the icon (although, the other one works as well).
