Alright here's the story.

I was using my Zune with the new Kicker ZK500, which FYI kicks ass.......... ok on with the story.  I was at our shop detailing our Jet skis and I had the ZK500 in a safe place to not get it wet or dirty , which was about 25 feet away and all of the sudden I have no music playing, so figured it was a track that had some dead time in it, so I go over to change to the next song and realize that the Zune is frozen.  Me not knowing how to reset it holds every combination imaginable and finally I got it to work after about a couple of hours.  I go to my music and there isn't a single file in there....... along with every other category.

So here is my question what did I do that would have caused me to erase everything off my Zune and yes I did search before making the post as now I know how to reset my Zune 80 thanks to this post---->http://www.zunescene.mobi/forums/index.php?topic=31119.0

Knowing that, what is a hard reset?

Is there any other info I should know about next time my Zune decides to freeze up on me?

Thanks in advance for any help Grin

Chances are you did a hard reset which means complete format. As to why it froze, don't know. Maybe battery life or something

It had a fresh charge and when it's docked in the Kicker ZK500 it's charging as well.

My question is what will I need to do now?  Can I just plug in my Zune and it will sync or will I have to go through everything again and upload V2.5 and all that fun stuff?

Will my computer even recognize my Zune?

It will most likely do both - it will load on the newest firmware (2.5) first, and then sync all your content back. Smiley  The computer should recognize the Zune device correctly.

Ok so I tried to sync my Zune 80 and it will get 3% into the sync and will give me the error code C00D124D.

What can I do to eliminate this issue?  Do I need to reinstall the Zune software?  Clear the hard drive on the Zune itself?

I'm getting a little frustrated, since I just purchased the Kicker ZK500 and can't use it, because my Zune if giving me problems.

The sync groups have already been deleted from the computer, so I have not problem clearing everything and starting over.  I just need to know how to do it.

So please help me so I can get to using my zune again. Cry

Well I just got my new 80gb Zune, since they apparently couldn't fix my other one, or maybe it's just easier/quicker to mail out a new one..........

Anyways I was using my Zune and as I busy putting the last coat of varnish on the coffee table I built for my woods class this spring and I noticed some dead air time and of course the Zune is froze Angry
So I did a soft reset and looked under music and guess what.......... there wasn't a single song or file on the zune or atleast one that showed up, so I went inside to resync my Zune and as it's syncing it's telling me I don't have enough space on my Zune(I did have 77.66 gb of music on it)
I'm about to do a hard reset and see what happens.  I'll report back when I have done the hard reset and tried to sync my zune.

Yeah I was using the Kicker unit, when it decided to freeze up and not recognize any of the files on there.  Since when I went to sync my Zune it told me I did have enough space on m Zune.

So I did a reset that wipes just the files, not the firmware and I was able to re-sync everything and it looks like I'll just be using the Aux in on the Kicker unit, till they get the issue resolved.

Dear Fellow Zune Lovers,

I have heard of customers who are experiencing this problem. I apologize for the inconveniences this problem has given you, and I feel bad.

We are trying to pinpoint the root of the problem and identify a solution.

I invite anyone who has experienced this problem with their Zune device and ZK500 to send me a note via email ( HnP@kicker.com ) so we can connect and learn more about the circumstances surrounding your own Zune device and Kicker ZK500 problem.

Thank you,

Bryan
