My 30 was playing music like normal then it stopped, I looked at it and its frozen at the booting up screen, with the bar on the bottom fully loaded. I just connecting it to my comp with and without the software but it didnt respond. Tried the back button + up button reset too, but nothing. Anything I can do to save it?

As of now, there is no known cure since this issue just started.

Microsoft must have a bug built in this thing. Mine just did it today also.

Same thing happened to me, obvious it's a software bug in the latest update 3.0.

It will be interesting to see if MS can or will fix those units that are out of warranty

Grrrrrrr....

This is really upsetting.
Have a zune for almost 2 years no problem....now this. This is insane, I hope Microsoft either fixes or replaces these for each of us.

I had read this morning that if you let the battery go dead and then recharge it,it takes care of the problem. This fixed Mine. I didn't wait for it to go dead. I took the back of the Zune and unplugged the battery. When I plugged the battery back in. My Zune worked.
Go to www.rapidrepair.com/guides/zune/zuneassemblyguide.htm this will show you how to take the back off your zune. The battery is the little black box on top of the hard drive. The gold strap that goes over the hard drive is connected to the battery. You can lift the battery out of its area and you can see where it plugs into the circuit board. Just inplug the strap from the circuit board and plug it back in. This cured mine in that much time.

Not true.  A few have reported that what you claim to work does not work.  Also, opening your Zune 30 voids your warranty.  If it is out of warranty Microsoft won't honor any global replacement policy (if it comes to that) if it has been opened.

Mine died this morning too. Turned it on when I arrived at work and... nothing. Stuck on the loading screen.
Help, Microsoft!
