So I looked into the Device Manager and the problem says, The Device cannot Start Code 10. Ideas?

Could you explain what you did for future reference?

Well I had an Ipod touch before hand, and that was still installed. I removed the Ipod software and device and rebooted, Zune automatically recognized and installed!

Would seem like the iTunes thing was purely coincidence and that rebooting was just needed. I had to reboot my computer 1st.

Yes After Iupdated the zune software.. my computer wanted to reboot.. so i let it and after it rebooted i pluged in my zune hd and rest was flawless.. now when i wiped my zune 30 (gave her that) i told her to update the zune software 1st.. she did that then she pluged in the zune 30 and the puter wouldnt see it.. took a bit then her computer wanted to reboot too..so i told her to let it reboot and after that her puter seen the zune 30 and finished with the firmware for that..

So at first if your puter does not see the Zune HD.. try rebooting it after you upgrade the zune software and that should do the trick.

Nope I had already taken those steps, rebooted several times, installed and uninstalled, rebooted zune. Those all did not work, as soon as I deleted and stopped the Ipod services, then the Zune worked!
