I have been trying to purchase several tunes (using my Song Credits) that are already in my collection so that I may burn a CD. But for the past two weeks, I have been unable to do so because there's a "temporary server error". If I try to purchase a new song - one that is not already in my collection - there's no problem. Why can't I purchase songs that are already in my collection?

You can re-download old songs that you've already purchased, you just can't through the market place. The way I know to get songs that I've "purchased" through Zune Pass when they've failed on me is to:
Go to settings
Click on Account
and then find and click on Purchase History
You should be able to restore all of your old purchases through there, I'm not sure about buying one you've already bought.

It's the other way around: I want to purchase songs that I've already downloaded. Hoping that I don't have to delete them, then re-download plus purchase, but this might be the only way to do it.

Just move the albums out of your music folder and the Zune will think you don't have them then buy them

I deleted the files from my computer, then tried to purchase (& download) them using my credits. NONE of the 8 tunes can be purchased or even downloaded: "Temp. Server Error", which is never temporary.

Okay, I just read some other posts. Maybe the problem IS temporary, as it seems like many people are unable to purchase and/or download songs at this time.
