I decided to use this program called resource hacker that lets you open .dlls and .exes to find and edit things. I found some possibly new features that might be enabled in future updates or we may be able to enable them. Some things i found were Minimode (Like in the 1 for WMP i guess) Video Acceleration (Im not sure if this is new or if its already there) New Plug In Feature? Pixel Aspect Ratio Podcasts From Zune Software or just subscribing to them. Sync Lyrics to zune? A purple and yellow zune icon (Might be new future zune colors) First download resource Hacker. http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/Next start up Resource hacker and open Zune.exe (zune software) After that go to open again and open zuneloc.dll Then go to the Dialog You will see a bunch of numbers! 2043 contains plugin menu 2047 contains pixel aspect 9826 contains podcast subscription menu 21045 contains lyrics sync menu |

I know what a icon is, i was just thinking that since there are purple yellow icons there might be purple or yellow zunes in the future, Like the current magenta and orange icon there are magenta and orange zunes. I said i wasnt sure if some features were already implemented. Would you show me how you got the minimode with the zune software?

Thats compact mode. The 1 i found sounds like the WMP 1. Where it docks in the taskbar. Heres what im talking about.  Yes my hack was quite simple but i was just an example. |

Well, I think that's really intriguing. We all know the Podcasting support is in the works, but it's interesting that there's a DLL placeholder for it already in the Zune software. Thanks, Viper, for pointing that out. Also, as far as I know there is no lyrics display on the Zune player - or in the Zune software. Have I missed that nenapod? Please let me know. is that the CD version of Zune.exe or has that file been updated? I wonder if those have been there or if they are adding these the updates?

I wonder if Lyrics could potentially be part of some Karaoke capability in the future. That capability would definitely fit in with "the social" marketing.

I'm assuming it's for a karaoke feature implemented later. ipod already has this feature out now, so maybe Zune will too later. |

Yeah, apparently you connect this mic thingy to it and it will dull out the vocals to the songs and you can sync lyrics to it. Sounds like what the zune thing has coming. |

All Reshacker does is let you modify the GUI of a program. The fact that Microsoft included these features in with the Zune program does hint that they will be used in the future (users will not need to download a new Zune program), but Reshacker will not enable any of these features. The only way to do this is by decompiling the executable and writing the code in yourself.
