Is there any way to change the 4:3 aspect forced ratio? My original is a 16:9. The preview images show the black bars, but the compressed file has the height pulled up to match the 240 height. Typically I put it in Encode360 and E360 will leave the aspect ratio, however this specific file is the first time it's crashed once starting the encode. I need the resolution set to 320x184.

I've tried installing the microsoft codec pack multiple times but I keep getting a message that it didn't install correctly and there are no compression choices coming up. I'm running Vista so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I did install some Vista Codec Pack (not from microsoft) I found online and WMV9 came up as a compression choice. I'm trying that right now as I'm typing. I just got the Zune in the mail an hour or so ago so it's just charging up. Another choice was Divx Mpeg-4 but I wasn't sure if that could be a correct choice. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

When you select "Video for broadband 512 Kbps" in Movie Maker, it forces the 4x3 aspect ratio.
Somewhere in Movie Maker is the ability to edit the profiles or create a custom profile so you'd want to copy all of the settings from the "Video for broadband 512 Kbps" profile except make the resolution 320x184.

Divx won't work.  You might need the .net framework or something like that.  Just make sure you get the WMV codec.  Let us know how it works out.

This is a great tut metal_head. I've ran into a problem though.

Everything went fine up until Windows Movie Maker. When I drag and drop the two files into movie maker, and go to File, there is no option for Save Movie File.

Then options I have are:
New Project
Open Project
Save Project
Save Project As...

Capture Video
Import into Collections

Properties
Exit

I have no Save Movie File. And when I click Save Project As, I don't get the window that shows in your tut that I'm suppose to get if I clicked Save Movie File.

Any ideas? Great tutorial though. Thank you.

EDIT: Nevermind. I had to select both of the files, then Right click and press Add to Timeline. Now the Save Movie File option shows up.

Is this tutorial exclusive for Zune 30GB? Or does it also works on Zune 80GB?
