  • Auto fill metadata
          1) Base on file name and video type
          2) Base on imdb movie search results (using imdb parser)
          3) Base on TV show search results (using tv parser)
  • Batching
          1) Multiple files editing
          2) Multiple files auto fill metadata base on individual file name and video type

I think everything is pretty much self explanatory. First F1 to read the help if you don't understand something. If the help does not help, then feel free to msg me and ask.

Some beauty shots of what it look like: (music video metadata)

(music video file properties)

(results returned from imdb)

(episodes matching: note the title with TV show name and season)

(current formats for parsed TV show titles)

(episodes sorter for correct displaying on the Zune device)

Requirement:
.NET Framework 2.0 (or above)
Windows XP SP2 (haven't tested on any other Windows platform)

Download
dSHARPiE.ZIP (Version 1.4.5.5)

Note:
Not all meta data tags are currently supported by your Zune device but it is there if MS decide to stop being lazy and fix it.

Questions, comments & suggestions are welcome. If you think there is a bug with the imdb parser, go to imdb.com and search to see if it is really a bug, then if it is, msg me what you're searching title. For any other bugs, just msg me.

In the next post are some tutorial on usage.

(I meant to add these tutorials into the chm help file.)

Tutorial on how to use the imdb search:
For the search feature to work, you need to have the video type set to Movie and the video title must not be empty. The parser will only parse exact movie matches or it will list titles from the returned popular titles results.

Tutorial on how the settings (auto fill):
I don't think many of you will use this but the auto fill settings will grab the metadata file the video filename itself and load that as metadata. For Movie, the entire filename will be use for the title. For Music Video, the filename will be parse base on the first dash ( - ) within the filename for the artist, title, and description (i.e. Akon - Smack That). Of course if you have artist with dash in their name, it will screw up. For TV Show, the filename will be parse base on the first dash as well, but only populate the title and episode (i.e. Stargate Atlantis - Episode 16 - The Ark). These settings will only work if the title and/or episode is empty, once you change the video type, it will auto fill.

Tutorial on batching editing:
If you have a bunch of videos with have the same metadata for an attribute (i.e. I have 20 Family Guy episodes, the video type, title, rating, year is all the same). Highlight the videos you want, and edit the metadata that you want the same and all selected will change. You can also batch edit with the tutorial settings above, but each video file will auto fill base on its own filename.

This is GREAT!!!  Shocked Worked great and is very user friendly, this is by far the easiest way to edit the tags, job very well done. This will hopefully take the hassel out for a lot of people. Once again GREAT JOB!  Cheesy

O ya, this deserves a sticky, it's a lot easier then going in and editing the Meta tags by hand.

Hmm please no double posting. Let me download this program and see how it works on this video I am converting.

Okay, I tested this out to see if it was easier. I have to say it is.

I just uninstalled TigoSh**o. You should really think about promoting this software somehow. It's not great. It's FANTASTIC! And BTW dude you tell the truth. Unlike Mys Videl. You released photos of what you're working on and even released the application. So keep up the good work and maybe some day good things will come your way.

I can't seam to get it to batch edit.  I select everything by holding down the shift key and press TV show.  I move it to the bottom pane and press save.  It didn't work.  What am I doing wrong?

once you have it at the bottom in the save list, you then have to go to the top, file, then save.

That should be correct. I just tested it and my video type show up as TV Show, everything else was left the way it was since I didn't touch any of the other attributes.

Only bug I found is the Parental Rating in batch edit not working for all videos. I'll fix that tomorrow if I have time.

Here use this: http://www.download.com/ExtractNow/3000-2250_4-10530635.html?tag=lst-0-1

It's from download.com and is completely free. It got 4 of 5 stars from the editors with no limitations or anything, worked perfectly for me.

Would freezing while it is saving info be a problem? Tongue if so, ive found one.

I grabbed this thing to try it out, and started editing some movies and tv shows of mine. For some reason, when i batch edited the TV shows, it would save some, and not the others. Simply restarting the program fixed that, no biggie. But now I'm editing Mission impossible three, Die Another Day, and Inside man, and it froze about half way while saving. Any suggestions?

Edit: Oops, while i was typing it finished, but it said all three failed. What would cause them to fail?

BTW, it froze up for good on Scary movie 3. I had to terminate the program, completely screwed up the metadata and i cant edit it now, luckily i have a copy of it on my zune so ill just pull it off that. and the Movie " The Cave " turned up too many results, but it is an exact match.

I feel so horrible pointing out the errors, but it really is a great program to use untill MS adds support for video metadatas in the zune software.
